Situated on a ridge of red volcanic soil overlooking the upper Yarra Valley hidden from the well-trodden tracks of the mainstream, the soils at Seville Estate are extremely fertile red to grey volcanic, over a clay base.
In 1973 Dr Bailey Carrodus released the first commercial vintage of wine from the Yarra Valley since 1923. The wines reflect this highly individual man, the site he chose so carefully, and the vagaries of the seasons in which they are produced.
Established in 1991 Seville Hill Winery has been producing wines from one of the most elevated and cooler properties in Seville and the Yarra Valley. The site is also home to Rich Red Volcanic soil famous in the area.
